Diane Roeder, shepherd and fiber artist

Florence (Northampton), Massachusetts

Sojourner Sheep, located in the village of Florence within the city of Northampton Massachusetts, is a small flock of sheep comprising several breeds.   I became a shepherd in 1998 due what I jokingly describe as Mid-Life Crisis Run A-Muck.  My desire to provide a source of grass-fed lamb has developed due to my health care background (I am a registered nurse with a graduate degree in Public Health) as well as the education that I have received from my customers.

But most of all  I enjoy their wonderful fleeces and the wide range of beautiful items that can be fashioned from them.  Sojourner Design has evolved as a result of the realization that sheep provide us with such a practical and yet amazing gift.

This web site will gradually imrove and expand;  new items are steadily being added for sale on the Sojourner Design pages.  Please bookmark it and return from time to time.
